Nov. 1955 to Sept 1975 -- US Navy. During Dan's Naval career he rose to the rank of E-8. Dan Served on DER's on the early warning radar detect line "Known as NORAD". From there Dan transfered to Submarine Duty where he qualified on 5 different types of Submarines and completed his career working for the Naval Scientific Technical Information Center. Jan. 1976 to Sept. 1984 -- Field Engineer,Plant Engineer & International Service Manager. During this period, Dan started out as a Field Engineer Traveling World Wide in the Commercial Printing Industry. Working for Manufacturers of the printing machinery then progressing thru the position of Plant Engineer for Suburban Printing Plant of Pittston PA, then culminating the career as an International Service Manager for large manufacturers of the machinery, Carry Metal Products of Barrington Ill. and Special Products Engenering Corporation of Needham Mass. October 1984 to the present -- Entrepreneur Dan was independent and the owner of 3 corporations thru this period, an international importing business in the printing industry , Litho Equipment Corporation, an Consulting Corporation to the printing industry, Dan May Consultants Inc. and an Activated Charcoal Cleaning Company, Osprey Enterprises Inc., all taken to successful plateau's before selling them. During the period up to 1975 above Dan and his family resided in the New London Ct. area, they owned two homes, the first was a single family home in the Groton Township. The second was a Farm in the Ledyard Township. Additionally Dan purchased and managed 13 appartments located in three buildings. In 1979 when Dan's career took him to PA. he liquadated all holdings in the New London CT. area and purchased a 100 acre estate in the Pocono Mountains. Dan also owned and managed a 6 Apt. Building in Wilkes-Barre PA. Dan and his family remained in PA. for 10 yrs. When the children had all left and the business's needed money to progress, Dan sold the estate and moved to Virginia Beach, VA. As the years passed Dan and his wife of over 40 yrs decided to make Virginia Beach the last Stop. Dan Spun off the corporations and established himself as a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1987. During 2004 Dan acquired his Real Estate Broker License and started the Real Estate Brokerage of NRES Inc, Dan purchased Heartland Realty LLC in Newport News in January of 2009. He and his wife Anne still live in Virginia Beach and Dan still works in Real Estate, Building an National Group of Corporations to Service the Military and Anne has retired from retail sales after more that 18 very successful years, Anne now owns a sewing business and assists with the Real Estate Business. |
